About Me
I've had a love for sports since I was about 12 years old, watching the Indianapolis Colts win a Super Bowl a year later in 2006 also helped keep me interested. However, as I grew older and was deciding on a major in high school, I always watched Stuart Scott, Stephen A. Smith, Michael Wilbon, Jemele Hill and so many others on ESPN's various shows. As I entered college, I realized the craft and necessary work each person mentioned, and so many more, dedicated to becoming excellent journalists, and as I continued taking my coursework and began internships, I've grown to love the sports journalism profession.
I love the opportunities of sports journalism: the buzzer beaters, game clinching interceptions, walk-off and lead-off home runs and so much more. Above all else, I love finding and telling stories of athletes, their relationships with fans and one another, and the career comebacks they've had. It will always be exciting being able to cover games at pivotal moments, but it's also a great joy to me to be able to tell a story that a community can connect to.
I've reported on many sports: baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer; and I am well skilled at shooting each of these. I've been blessed with the opportunity to cover LSU's 2016 and 2017 Citrus Bowl appearances, the Tigers' interstate, NIT match-up against UL of Lafayette, and multiple New Orleans Saints games. The more games I cover, the more I enjoy the profession, and as an aspiring sports journalist, I look forward to the opportunity to work in a field where I can grow as a communicator, connector but also a person because working in a profession like this will be one that can impact many people, who can in-turn impact me.
